Casa Manzoni meets the contemporary design of La Manufacture
An unexpected encounter within the walls of Casa Manzoni saw the contemporary design of La Manufacture in dialogue with the history of the prestigious residence where the writer Alessandro Manzoni once lived. Immersed in a dream-like atmosphere, three new collections by Sebastian Herkner were presented, along with collections by Neri&Hu, Nendo, Luca Nichetto, Patrick Norguet, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, Front, Ana Moussinet, and others. The exhibit, created on occasion of Milan Design Week 2023, showcased a unique blend of contemporary design and historical ambiance, taking viewers on a journey through time.

Seven distinct rooms and an outdoor patio became the setting for three new collections by German designer Sebastian Herkner: Moss, Gem, and Breeze. Each collection is united by a reference to nature and its elements. Moss is an upholstered modular sofa system with elegant and organic lines, Gem is a series of tables characterized by a playful design, and Breeze chair is a product characterized by curved, elegant, and enveloping backrest.

The Creative Direction was curated by Studio Blanco, and the exhibit was set up by Greta Cevenini, while the soundtrack created a surreal atmosphere, transporting visitors into a different world. The combination of wild plants and wildflowers, along with Mary Lattimore's ethereal sounds, elevated the exhibit. The voice of actress and performer Elena Rivoltini reciting passages from Promessi Sposi added an intriguing layer to the experience, evoking the mysterious atmosphere of the Lombard rural landscape described by Manzoni, further emphasizing the blend of past and present.
