GEM was born from a simple gesture: stacking round forms until balance is found, like the pebbles one sets upright on a beach. Sebastian Herkner lacquered them, an echo of Jean-Michel Othoniel's glass beads, and made them the base of a table. The principle stays open. The base is composed by playing with sizes and shades, the height is chosen, dining table, side table or coffee table, and the whole is matched to one's interior. Each GEM thus becomes a one-of-a-kind piece, halfway between a precious stone and a plaything.
